On General Hospital, Rena Sofer's Lois Cerullo just watched her beloved daughter, Brook Lynn, wed the man of her dreams when she married Detective Harrison Chase. Now, Sofer has her own wedding news to share. She just married the man she divorced in 2017.
"This weekend on what would have been our 21st wedding anniversary I got to re-marry my best friend @sbookstaver once again!" Sofer shared on Instagram, along with two sweet wedding photos in which the actress sported a white pantsuit rather than a white gown. "The journey we are about to begin is the most exciting adventure, in a new state and town, but most thrilling is that we get to do it together as husband and wife! The three years we spent apart were humbling and heartbreaking but vital to us finding each other again. The love I have for you now is the foundation of my life. I can't imagine another moment NOT walking through life with you hand in hand and our hearts entwined. You are the love of my life, and it's not 'oops we did it again' but I'm so grateful we did it again!"
Sofer and Sanford Bookstaver divorced after 14 years of marriage in 2017, but in 2019, she happily announced that they had reconciled. When Bookstaver flew from New York to be at her birthday party, it was a turning point in their relationship.
"That was a big deal for me, because it kind of answered the question of, 'Who's going to have my back for the rest of my life?' Here's a guy who [was no longer obligated to] have my back anymore, and he still did," Sofer told Soaps in Depth in 2019.
In 2021, the actress, who was still playing Quinn Fuller on The Bold and the Beautiful at the time, wished her man a happy anniversary, briefly touching on their breakup and reconciliation.
"This guy!!! Married me 18 years ago today. I divorced him 4 years ago yesterday," she shared, alongside a wedding photo from 2003. "Then he took me back (well we took each other back) two years ago. And I've never been happier!!! I love you @sbookstaver you are my #loml forever!!!"
Sofer and Bookstaver share one daughter together, 19-year-old Avalon. The actress also has an older daughter, Rosabel, from her marriage to Wally Kurth (Ned Quartermaine). Both Kurth and Sofer watched their soap opera daughter marry on the May 16 episode of GH.
