The sexy men of soap operas are über romantic with their on-screen loves, whisking them away on exotic vacations, showering them with expensive gifts, treating them to lavish dinners, and setting the mood with candles, bubble baths, and other swoon-worthy accoutrements. The Bold and the Beautiful's Bill Spencer has certainly gone out of his way on several occasions to give his various fictional lovers wow-worthy romantic moments, but it turns out Dollar Bill can't hold a candle to his portrayer, Don Diamont.
In a recent chat with Soap Central, the New York native confessed that he's a huge sucker for romance -- especially on Valentine's Day.
"I am always a big Valentine's Day planner," he enthused of how he spoils his wife, Cindy Ambuehl, on the romantic holiday. "Generally, I pick a hotel that we haven't been to before [for us to stay in], so we go to a hotel, and I make dinner plans and do roses and flowers and this and that and all kinds of presents. So, yeah -- I'm a big, goofy, romantic Valentine's guy!"
Not all women are as fortunate as Diamont's wife, and when we pointed out that fact, he got even more "aaawww"-inducing on us.
"Well, I'm lucky, and that is why I go to the effort that I go to," he responded. "I'm a lucky man."
Unfortunately, Bill's other half on B&B, Katie (Heather Tom), isn't quite so lucky. She is once again coming to terms with the fact that she's in love with a man who also has the hots for her sister, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). That is a complicated situation that won't be resolved in time for the fictional pair to celebrate Valentine's Day together -- but do you think they'll work things out relatively soon?
