45th Annual Daytime Emmys coverage: General Hospital's Vernee Watson wins Guest Performer Emmy.

OUTSTANDING GUEST PERFORMER

Vernee Watson (Stella Henry, General Hospital)

"This is so heavy," Watson marveled as she accepted her Emmy from the hosts of The Real.

Watson thanked the show's producers, writers, and crew and took time to single out Vinessa Antoine (Jordan Ashford), who appeared in her reels -- and whose alter ego was on the receiving end of some pretty sharp words.

"[Thank you to] Vinessa for putting up with me fussing at her and calling her names," Watson said. "I had to apologize to her before I started, but I said, 'Girl, I'm going in on you! I'm goin' in!'"

Watson, who may have been best known to audiences for her work on the series Carter Country and Welcome Back, Kotter, took a moment to reflect on her lengthy career as an actor.

"Thank you, Lord, for 52 years in the business," she shared. "This is a special blessing."

And perhaps in reflecting on her career in primetime, Watson also took a moment to comment on one big difference between primetime and daytime.

"Child, I never had so many pages [of lines] in my life," Watson added, her face clearly sharing how difficult the task had been. "Lord, have mercy!"
